John Rodzvilla

Over the last decade John Rodzvilla has been the electronic publisher-in-residence at Emerson College where he has taught courses on EPUB, web development, and general book publishing. He also helped launched Emerson’s online MFA in Popular Fiction Writing and Publishing, been co-director for Emerson’s Business of Creative Enterprises program for undergraduates, and is currently the director for the online certificate in Digital Content Management. The focus of his work is on the digital publishing space and innovation. He is currently writing a book with Iris Febres for the University of Chicago Press on digital publishing.

Metadata Beyond ONIX: How Publishers can use Different Metadata Formats Throughout Their Press

This workshop looks at the main formats for metadata — Dublin Core, ONIX, EAD, Schema.org, open graph, Twitter card — and talks about how they can be used by publishers to create rich content and how to think about crosswalks between the formats to make publishing more efficient.
