Will there be free wireless at the venue?

Yes! Login details will be printed on your badge.

Will there be coffee or food?

Yes, breakfast and lunch will be provided, as well as coffee and snacks throughout the day.

Will there be a coat check?

There won’t be a formal, staffed coat check, but there are large coat closets available in all event rooms. So don’t worry, you can stash your bulky winter coat!

Is there an after-party?

Yes! In fact, there are TWO. 

After ebookcraft on Thursday, March 23, join us at The Pilot for our after-party and pub quiz featuring nerdy trivia, prizes, food, and fun!

When: Thursday, March 23 (doors open at 6 p.m. and quiz starts at 7 p.m.)

After Tech Forum on Friday, March 24, join us in the concourse outside the conference hall for drinks and hors d’oeuvres.

Is there a student discount on tickets?

Unfortunately, we’re not able to provide a student discount. However, it’s worth checking with your school’s administration to see if they have a professional development budget that could sponsor students.

Are there any professional development subsidies that cover part of attendance costs?

All Canadian-owned and -controlled publishing firms are eligible for the Association of Canadian Publishers‘ Professional Development Subsidy Program, which covers a portion of registration fees. Click here to download an application (PDF), or contact Inna Shepelska at the ACP for more information. The deadline to apply is Dec. 16, 2016.

Is there a special hotel rate?

Yes! The Chelsea Hotel in Toronto (33 Gerrard St. W.) is our official conference hotel. The special rate for attendees is $129 CAD plus tax for single or double occupancy ($159 for triple; $189 for quadruple).

Rooms must be booked by March 2, 2017 to receive the goup rate, and reservations can be made for the nights of Tuesday, March 21, Wednesday, March 22 and/or Thursday, March 23, 2017. If you’re booking a night other than the conference nights, you may have to contact the hotel reservations department to check availability for additional nights at the special rate.

There are three options to book a room at the special rate:

  1. Call the reservations department at 1-800-CHELSEA (243-5732) or 416-595-1975, and make sure to use the guestroom block name “BookNet Canada.”

Are there any discounts for flights?

Are there any volunteer opportunities at these events?

The BookNet Canada team comes out to help at Tech Forum, so no extra volunteer help is needed.
